The world of immersive video and photography is reaching a turning point with the arrival of the Insta360 X5, a technology powerhouse designed to push the boundaries of visual creation. Built for professionals and passionate creators alike, this 360° camera strikes the perfect balance between raw performance, versatility, and ergonomics. From 8K capture to FlowState stabilization and AI-powered editing tools, everything is engineered to transform the way you capture the world. 📸
Exceptional image quality: more than a resolution, a total immersion
The first thing that strikes you about the X5 is its ability to deliver stunningly sharp images. Thanks to 11K-to-8K supersampling, every sequence benefits from increased pixel density, making every detail sharper, every texture more vivid, and every color more vibrant. Whether filming a busy urban scene or a mountain panorama, the visual output exceeds expectations. The level of realism is such that you genuinely feel like you’re reliving each moment.
But where the X5 truly impresses is in challenging lighting conditions. The 360° PureVideo feature shines in low light, combining AI-powered intelligent noise reduction with an optimized dynamic range. No more grainy nighttime footage. With the X5, even night scenes take on a cinematic dimension. 🌙
Durability and modularity
When investing in an action camera, durability is essential. Insta360 fully understands this and equips the X5 with fully replaceable lenses. In the event of an impact or scratch, simply fit a new set of lenses using the replacement kit, without having to replace the entire camera. An innovation that reduces both costs and downtime.
Add to that an ultra-resistant body reinforced with an optical film, and you get a camera capable of withstanding drops, scratches, and impacts better than any other model on the market. It’s also waterproof to 15 m without any additional accessory, and up to 60 m with a special housing — ideal for divers and water sports enthusiasts. 🌊
Video performance and endless perspectives
The X5 features an Active HDR mode at 5.7K / 60 fps that stabilizes every movement while capturing detail in both shadows and highlights. A real gem for action sports fans and dynamic travel videographers. And thanks to the invisible selfie stick, shots take on a drone-like quality, with the support never appearing in frame — pure magic!
With 360° video, no angle ever escapes you. The X5 films everything, everywhere, all at once, then lets you reframe your footage with precision. Using AI-driven reframing tools, you can pick the best angle after filming, which completely changes the game: no need to think about framing while shooting. 🎬
InstaFrame Mode
InstaFrame mode lets you create perfectly framed flat videos with zero editing. Simply choose a view (selfie or fixed) before recording, and the X5 does the rest. Even better, you simultaneously capture a 360° video ready for editing later — giving you two pieces of content from a single take. A game-changer for vloggers, content creators, and journalism professionals.
Another highlight: the single-lens mode at 4K / 60 fps for an ultra-immersive POV effect. Paired with a 170° field of view, you get wide, dynamic, remarkably smooth footage even during fast-paced movement.
Breathtaking photos 📷
With its 72 MP 360° photos, the X5 delivers a level of photographic quality rarely seen on this type of camera. Every shot is rich in detail, perfect for landscapes, travel scenes, or events where you want to capture everything in a single click. The rendering is striking, colors are balanced, and contrasts are well managed.
Crystal-clear audio in all conditions
Video isn’t just about the image — and Insta360 knows it. Thanks to the new multi-layer windshield and an enhanced noise-reduction algorithm, the captured audio is clear and precise, even outdoors or at high speed. 🌬️ The four audio modes let you adjust to any situation: wind reduction, 360° audio, voice enhancement, or stereo.
The icing on the cake: the Mic Air, a lightweight and discreet wireless microphone that connects directly to the X5. It guarantees professional-grade sound quality and also lets you control the camera remotely. A must-have for outdoor vlogs and interviews.
Battery life and fast charging
Battery life is another key strength of this camera. The 2400 mAh battery delivers up to 185 minutes of recording, which is 37% more than the previous model — more than enough for a standard shooting session without worrying about running out of power.
In a hurry? Fast charging gets you to 80% in just 20 minutes. Perfect for creators always on the move who never want to miss a shot due to a dead battery. ⚡
Stabilization and locked horizon
FlowState stabilization is among the best on the market. It eliminates jolts, vibrations, and unwanted motion for ultra-smooth footage, even in the most extreme conditions. Whether you’re filming on skis, a mountain bike, or a paraglider, the 360° horizon lock keeps images perfectly level regardless of your angle or orientation.
Editing and post-production 🧠
The Insta360 app makes all the difference. Powered by artificial intelligence, it helps you create stunning edits effortlessly. With AI Frame, the AI automatically selects the best shots from your 360° footage. You can also reframe using a virtual joystick, or simply tilt your smartphone to set the viewing angle.
Here’s what the app offers:
Edit-free export with InstaFrame
Special effects with Shot Lab: Bullet Time, Sky Swap, Fly Lapse, TimeShift…
One-click distortion reduction (Dewarp)
Cloud export with Insta360+ to free up device storage
Voice, gesture, or selfie-stick control
Accessories and compatibility
Part of what makes the X5 so powerful is its comprehensive accessory ecosystem. Insta360 offers a dedicated range for every use case:

Fast-charge case for intensive shoots
